Gardeners Cottage is een hondvriendelijke accommodatie met 5 slaapkamers en een prachtig uitzicht, op slechts 18 minuten lopen van het centrum van Rye.**
Gardeners Cottage ligt aan het einde van een rustige privéweg op de top van Rye Hill, op korte loopafstand van het stadscentrum. Het prachtige pand met 5 slaapkamers is ideaal voor boekingen van verschillende generaties of vrienden die willen bijpraten.
U komt het pand binnen in een kleine hal, ruimte voor jassen en schoenen na een middagwandeling. Vanuit de gang is er een gezellige lounge met uitzicht over de tuin en een kleine houtkachel voor koude herfst- en winteravonden. Er is een bijkeuken met een wasmachine en aparte droger, een fijne plek voor je trouwe viervoeter als die ook komt en een apart toilet beneden.
De grote keuken is volledig uitgerust met een vaatwasser, een grote koelkast met vriesvak en een keukentafel voor koffie in de vroege ochtend voordat de rest van het huis wakker wordt. De eetkamer biedt comfortabel plaats aan 8 gasten en heeft een prachtig uitzicht over de tuin en het omliggende platteland.
Er is een tweepersoonsslaapkamer met een kingsize bed op de begane grond met een eigen doucheruimte die geschikt is voor iedereen die slecht ter been is.
Een trap leidt naar de overige 4 slaapkamers. Aan de linkerkant is een tweepersoonsslaapkamer met een kingsize bed en tegenover een badkamer met ligbad, douchescherm, afneembare doucheslang, toilet en wastafel. Aan de rechterkant heb je twee eenpersoonskamers, een grote hoofdslaapkamer met een queensize bed en met uitzicht aan de zijkant en achterkant van het pand. Nog een familiebadkamer met ligbad, douchescherm, afneembare doucheslang, toilet en wastafel.
Er is een klein dakterras met uitzicht op de tuin en Romney Marsh richting de zee, de perfecte plek voor een kopje koffie in de ochtend of een glaasje wijn in de avond terwijl u naar de zonsondergang kijkt.
De tuin wikkelt zich rond het pand en is hondveilig en bestaat voornamelijk uit gazon met volwassen beplanting. Er is een terras naast de keuken met een buitentafel en stoelen en verder tuinmeubilair voor de zomermaanden in het tuinhuisje. Een geweldige ruimte om te genieten van het uitzicht op het platteland, dieren in het wild te spotten en 's nachts sterren te kijken zonder lichtvervuiling.
De accommodatie is hondvriendelijk met een traphekje onderaan de trap om te voorkomen dat honden naar boven gaan. We kunnen op verzoek een reiswieg leveren, maar indien nodig geen beddengoed voor kinderbedjes en een kinderstoel.

We stayed at Maytham Cottage for a girls weekend. The photos do not do it justice, it’s even nicer in real life! The rooms are bright and spacious, the kitchen is well appointed and everywhere was spotless. The location is superb also, with 2 good pubs within a 10 minute walk, and Rye itself within a 15 minute walk. Jacqui and her team are fabulous, nothing was too much trouble… the welcome pack was gorgeous

Well appointed and exactly as described. The lane down to the cottage is an adventure, but all the best destinations are. Beds were super comfortable and the kitchen very well kitted out.

Amazing place to stay if you are wanting to visit Rye. The house is very close to the town centre, where you can find a gorgeous little town. Jacqui was extremely helpful with directions to the property as well as any queries that we had during our stay. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a peaceful retreat to Rye.

The cottage is great & spacious and has what you need. Nice to have the big dining room and living room as there were 5 of us. Internet worked fine. Kitchen was well equipped and good furniture in the pretty garden. Enough parking for 4 cars

Positives - Very nice accommodation, nicely located - quiet, clean, nice garden Negatives - Only the road to the house could be repaired *Response* Sadly as the lane to the property is unadopted we have limited to how we can improve the access. We are glad that is all that you could find not so good about your stay.

This property was exceptional was so comfortable and a perfect place to stay 5 minutes drive from Rye a great pub the Kings Head within walking distance and the garden was a real pleasure to relax in. I had absolutely no complaints

It was a lovely, comfortable house to stay in. Only negative was the plug in one of the bathrooms was broken hence if anyone wanted a bath they had to use the other bathroom with a bath so inconvenient.

The cottage is very well equipped. Particularly the kitchen which has virtually every utensil you might need! The cottage is always spotless, the dishwasher tablets and laundry pods are a nice touch and very welcome after wet and windy walks at the harbour. We love how private and quiet the cottage feels and the beautifully well kept garden. The welcome pack is a lovely addition, and we enjoy the products every visit! Negative: The only downside we ever find is the lane down to the cottage. You can see some of the smaller holes have been filled but the bigger craters really need some attention. **Response** Pleasure to have you stay again and yes, we are aware the road can be problematic but sadly when you have to have all the property owners agree to spend, it can be very difficult as we are sure you can imagine.

Your communication was very quick and helpful and made access to the property very easy. The cottage felt homely and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. Lovely garden with sunny seating spots. We were very lucky with the weather, so we made the most of it. We had a very relaxing stay and would definitely recommend Maythem Cottage and hope to visit again.

We absolutely loved our stay here - my husband and I, with our 2 children and both our mums - there was plenty of space, everyone had their own bedroom and all the communal areas were spacious and great for hanging out. A home away from home. The house was clean, lovely linen on the beds, all the showers were great, kitchen equipment - you had most of what you needed, we did a mix of eating in and going out. The house is slightly outside of Rye, in a beautiful setting with stunning views of the wonderful surroundings. A lovely garden with sunshine spots for eating outside. No more than an easy 20 minute walk into Rye, we would definitely like to stay again.
