** Une belle maison de vacances familiale de caractère, située à seulement 15 minutes à pied du centre de Rye, East Sussex. **
Tollgates est une grande maison de vacances indépendante avec poutres en chêne et familiale datant en partie de 1850, mais avec tout le confort moderne que nous attendons des locations de vacances d'aujourd'hui. Le chalet parfait pour les amis ou les réunions de famille élargies et à quelques minutes du centre-ville de Rye historique. Derrière les barrières de péage se trouvent les champs et la campagne avec une vue imprenable.
Vous entrez dans la propriété dans la cuisine, grande et moderne avec suffisamment d'espace pour que tous les invités puissent s'asseoir à la table de ferme en chêne. Dans le couloir, vous avez une télévision pour enfants confortable, une salle de douche au rez-de-chaussée, le salon principal avec cheminée et portes-fenêtres s'ouvrant sur le patio. À côté du salon se trouve une grande véranda avec des sièges supplémentaires et une grande table à manger et des chaises si vous souhaitez dîner plus formellement. Les portes françaises mènent au jardin et au patio.
Le jardin entoure la maison et est principalement en pelouse avec des parterres de fleurs établis. Une table de ping-pong et une maison en bois pour enfants Wendy House sont à votre disposition. Il y a une table et des chaises à l'extérieur sur le patio juste à l'extérieur de la véranda et un barbecue Weber.
Des escaliers mènent aux cinq chambres, vous avez une chambre simple avec un lit de 4 pieds, deux chambres à deux lits avec des lits de 3 pieds et deux chambres doubles, une avec une salle de bain attenante. Il y a aussi une salle de bains familiale à cet étage et dans l'une des chambres lits jumeaux, il y a un lavabo supplémentaire.
Dehors, il y a un parking pour au moins 4 voitures sur l'allée de gravier.
Pour les amateurs de tennis parmi vous, vous êtes à cinq minutes à pied du Rye Lawn Tennis Club et pour ceux qui s'intéressent au golf, Rye Golf Club est à dix minutes en voiture.

We booked this house as a way for our larger family to stay together under one roof for a few days (7 adults & 3 children) The house was simply beautiful and full of romantic charm enjoyed by all 3 generations! The fireplace, Christmas tree and glass conservatory were amongst many favourite features. If you have a car this place is highly recommended. A problem with hot water heater was dealt with well and a partial refund provided without request - perfect hospitality. Thanks Jacqui!

The town of Rye is lovely with everything you might need for a weekend away including a supermarket, lots of pubs, cafes and independent shops and galleries. The cottage is located a 15 minute walk from the station, the last few minutes are along an unlit road without a pavement but the road is quiet so not much of an issue. The cottage is lovely with plenty of room for 9 guests without it feeling cramped. The decor is tastefully done and the cottage has masses of homely charm unlike lots of holiday rentals. The kitchen is very well equipped with more than enough space, utensils and crockery for 9 people. There is a footpath that runs along the river 50m across a field from the backdoor and the local area has lots of lovely walks. There is nothing that we didn't like or would have changed

We loved our stay at the Tollgates. Jacqui was brilliant when we had to change our stay at the last minute because of coronavirus restrictions. The communication throughout was excellent and the Tollgates is a lovely place to stay. Lots of room for the whole family and with a lovely view as well!

The house was safe and well equipped and the garden and surroundings added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. It is a good place for a family gathering. Some of the furnishings are old and in consequence not in top condition but it is a relaxing and comfortable place to stay.

This is a delightful house, full of character, in an excellent location. Very comfortable and well equipped - we had a great stay, enjoying the town trail in historic Rye and the brilliant bird life at the harbour nature reserve as well as an autumn walk on the sands at Camber. Highly recommended.

Beautiful cosy home feel that we just what we wanted! Really easy to walk to rye and all the local amenities. Really well equipped kitchen, with good size table for family meals. Beautiful conservatory again with table, which would be great for breakfasts. The beds were so comfortable and cosy we all slept late! We are definitely coming back

Fabulous house in an idyllic location. Short walk into the lovely town of Rye, with lots of great places to eat. Great meal in the Globe, just a 5 minute walk away. We loved the log fire, perfect on a winter’s eve. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of parking.

We liked the Christmas tree, the welcome pack and the crackers. We had a lovely time and the house was brilliant for a family gathering with plenty of space inside and out to play and relax.

Positives - Everything! The gardens, the swing, play house - all fantastic. The games and location absolutely beautiful. The history and personal books and items really made it feel special - the old books in the bedrooms, were just gorgeous. All perfectly equipped and clean. Gorgeous house perfect for family or group gatherings. 15-20min walk into Rye through the field at the back with lots of historic buildings, restaurants and cute shops. The setting is beautiful with uninterrupted views from the garden and conservatory. Would 100% recommend.

We had a very nice week in Tollgate. The house is a very beautiful, typical English country house. The rooms are very well furnished and there was plenty of space for 9 of us. We particularly enjoyed using the conservatory. The garden is also very beautiful. The communication with Jacqui as host was very friendly and helpful. When we had problems on arrival due to a train strike, she helped us a lot. We were very happy there and we can highly recommend the house.

Absolutely amazing cottage. Went there for a writing retreat with seven colleagues, we all enjoyed it tremendously. Good for work, leisure, and easy access to town (ten mins to closest pub, 20 to centre of town). Excellent!
